DWPC occasionally bestows honorary membership on people who have“made extraordinary and distinguished contributions to Colorado” in the fields of literature, journalism, and communications. As a gentleman and prolific scholar, Tom Noel, a.k.a. “Dr. Colorado,” certainly qualifies.  As of the last count, Tom Noel has authored, co-authored, and contributed to over 50 books on Colorado history and architecture.

He was nominated by Nan O’Neal Campbell, a longtime Historic Denver acquaintance. Debra Faulkner, Gail Beaton, Marcia Goldstein, and Peg Eckstrand are proud to count ourselves among Dr. Colorado’s devoted groupies. A lover of wine, women and song, our new honorary member knows how to “drive dull care away.” Please welcome Tom to our honorary ranks when you see him at a future DWPC event. He’ll be the one in the trademark bow tie.
