“Tell Truth and Shame the Devil!” was the mission statement for Polly Pry’s audacious self-published newspaper in the early 1900s. Polly tackled labor, political, and social issues with panache. She is also the only DWPC member ever accused of embezzling club funds! Early 20th century Denver Post journalist Frances Belford “Pinky” Wayne was a tireless crusader, championing everything from Planned Parenthood to Emily Griffith’s Opportunity School. An early DWPC member, she spearheaded the fundraising drive for the purchase of our clubhouse.

Meet these colorful and influential press women, as portrayed in a first-person conversation by members and historians Kim Field (Pry) and Debra Faulkner (Wayne) in a live and lively program at the clubhouse Pinky helped purchase.

Cautious socializing 5:30-6:00 p.m., followed by the program from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Members, RSVP to Debra Faulkner.

Nonmembers register at the door; $5 donation requested.
