Co-Founder of Ms. Magazine and acclaimed author, Letty Cottin Pogrebin presents a fascinating talk on her recent book: Shanda: A Memoir of Shame and Secrecy.
Letty will be interviewed by DWPC member and historic preservationist, Ruth Abram. The word “shanda” means “shame” in Yiddish. In her book, Pogrebin reveals her Jewish immigrant family’s struggles and secrets — from abandoned children, to religious transgressions, to hidden sexual identity.
