We’re proud to welcome DU associate professor Elizabeth Escobedo , Ph.D. for our second Women’s History Month Salon at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 21. She’ll enlighten us on the unprecedented employment avenues that opened up for women and minorities in U.S. defense industries during World War II and how massive population shifts and the war challenged Americans to rethink notions of race. This talk will explore the home front lives of Mexican American women during World War II and the ways in which their life choices would fundamentally influence the history of a generation.
