Lori Bergen, Ph.D., the inaugural dean of the University of Colorado College of Media, Communication and Information will address presswomen on Saturday, May 21, in room 247 at the University Memorial Center on the Boulder campus.

Organized by Colorado Press Women, the event will begin with coffee, rolls and conversation at 9:30 a.m. and continue with a dialogue with the dean. Participation is free to members of Denver Woman’s Press Club; however RSVPs are required by May 10 and should be made to msaltzman12@gmail.com.

Bergen came to the University of Colorado Boulder from Marquette University, where, as a dean, she spearheaded major academic initiatives focused on improving student learning through partnerships with professionals. Before joining academia, Bergen worked for several years as a television and print journalist. She holds a bachelor’s degree in history and political science and a master’s degree in journalism from Kansas State University. She earned her doctorate degree in mass communication with a minor in organizational behavior at Indiana University-Bloomington.
