Denver Woman’s Press Club will be among more than 70 sites participating in the 12th annual “Doors Open Denver” Saturday, April 23, and Sunday, April 24. The Denver Architectural Foundation sponsors the event, which, according to the group’s website, offers access to “Denver’s unique spaces, including high-profile, historic and artistic feats of architecture and design.”
The house will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days and two-hour shifts are available for volunteers. Members interested in participating may contact DWPC President Helen Masterson at Helen@guestguidepublications.com.
“Many of our members have taken part in the past and have found people love to see the inside of the house,” Masterson reports. “They are dumbfounded to see the dumbwaiter in the kitchen nook, delighted to look at the Burr etchings in the living room, and amazed that the room upstairs was once two rooms.”
Masterson also reports that past events have attracted more than 60,000 visits, and the marketing campaign has included radio, magazines, newspapers, banners, posters and 250,000 program guides inserted into the Denver Post.
