We are sad to report DWPC member Barbara Benedict has died. A Memorial Service will be held on February 11 at 1:00 p.m. at St. John’s Episcopal Cathedral, 1350 N. Washington St., Denver, Colorado.

Barbara devoted many years of her professional life to the Episcopal Diocese of Colorado, where she served as editor of The Colorado Episcopalian newspaper.

Barbara held a lifelong affection for the family cabin in Estes Park, where in her youth she spent happy days hiking and riding horses. An avid reader and curious traveler, Barbara loved to explore the world and made many trips to Europe and other countries throughout her life. She was also an engaged member of the Denver Woman’s Press Club and the Monday Literary Society, reflecting her enduring passion for literature, journalism, and thoughtful conversation.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Cathedral and Bishop and Diocese of Colorado. Barbara A. Benedict will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
