We are sad to report the passing of our long-time member and friend, Claudia Carbone.

She is survived by her children: Susan, David, Michael, Kathleen and Nicholas; grandchildren: Amanda, Madilynn, John Dylan (JD), Anthony, Avery, Isabella and Leona; her partner, Larry Haack; and brother, William Carbone.

Claudia began her journalism career as the first ski columnist for the Villager Newspaper in 1984, covering skiing and ski resorts. She published the groundbreaking book, “WomenSki,” in 1994. An expert in women’s issues in skiing she appeared on The Today Show, NBC News and scores of other media. In recent years she contributed reports to GoWorldTravel.com. Claudia’s CELEBRATION of LIFE will be held on November 30, 2023, at Wellshire Event Center, 3333 S. Colorado Blvd., from 4 to 7 p.m.
