Mary Lou Egan is a fourth-generation Coloradan who loves history, especially stories about immigrants in the West, their efforts to preserve their heritage and the institutions they created to support each other.
She is a graduate of the University of Denver, and a member of History Colorado, Historic Denver, and several organizations that preserve immigrants’ experiences.
Her story “German Russians in Globeville” was featured in the summer 2016 issue of the Journal of the American Historical Society of Germans from Russia (AHSGR); she authored A Commemoration of Holy Rosary School 1929-1969, and is working on a history of Denver’s Globeville neighborhood. She has given presentations about Globeville to Garden Place School, Rocky Mountain Guides Association, Colorado Corral of Westerners, and Regis University.
