We raised more than $10,000 for our scholarship fund this year! Many thanks to everyone who sorted, untangled necklaces, and matched loose earrings in an effort to make this event fun and a successful fundraiser for scholarships for aspiring young writers.
Once again, we wish to acknowledge the hard work and perseverance of our Jewelry Sale Committee: Hillary DePolo (our out-going Jewelry Queen), Mary Van Meter (next year’s Jewelry Queen), Nan O’Neal Campbell, Jan McNutt, and all of the other volunteers.
We’d also like to acknowledge Hilleary Waters, a former owner of Life on Capitol Hill, for the many lovely, colorful silk scarves she donated to our annual jewelry sale. Not only did Hilleary recruit other friends to make donations to this cause, but she washed, ironed and folded each and every scarf in the collection.
