Meet two longtime members who have built their careers around Colorado-themed subjects.  People say “write what you know.”  Sometimes you don’t have to look too far to write passionately about things others love too.  Come be inspired by Mindy Sink and Helen Masterson.

Mindy Sink is an experienced journalist and guidebook author based in Denver, Colorado. She has written extensively for The New York Times and many other publications and websites. She is the author of Walking Denver (1st and 2nd editions), Moon Handbooks Guide to Denver (1st, 2nd & 3rd editions), and a co-author of Colorado Organic: Cooking Seasonally, Eating Locally. Mindy holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and film studies from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She works full time in healthcare communications.  To learn more about Mindy, go to www.mindysink.com.

Helen Masterson, past DWPC President, writes words – for brochures, newsletters, web copy, e-newsletters, and handouts. Her passion is to write well – not cleverly, but clearly.  She has worked as a writer and public relations specialist for years writing about tourism. As Editor in Chief of Guest Guides Publications, Helen has helped publish just over 100 guidebooks totaling more than 17,690,000 copies!  From Estes Park to Moab, Guest Guide Publications are designed to reach a variety of audiences, from the young to the young at heart.
